Test an email flow.
From inbox to assertion.
Create a temporary inbox, receive a real test email, match the right message, and check its verification code.
1. Create an Automation key
In API & integrations, choose Create API key → Automation. The demo needs account access, inbox creation/retirement, message reading, and code extraction.
2. Run the example
Unzip the download. Python 3.10+ is required; no third-party packages are needed.
export INBOXCHEAP_API_KEY="YOUR_SCOPED_KEY" python automation_demo.py
PowerShell: $env:INBOXCHEAP_API_KEY="YOUR_SCOPED_KEY"
The demo prints a new receiving address, unique subject, and verification code. Send that email from your own mail client within two minutes. To automate sending as well, configure your SMTP provider using the included README.
3. See a real assertion pass
Created test inbox: demo…@mailx.im PASS: inbox creation -> real email reception -> matched message -> verification code assertion Retired test inbox; this address will never be reused.
The script retires the test inbox in a cleanup step. It uses a fresh subject and time filter, so an older email cannot accidentally satisfy the test. This tests the email flow; it does not test your application’s browser UI.
Prefer push notifications?
The download also includes a signed Webhook receiver with persistent event deduplication. Host it behind your own HTTPS endpoint, register it in the console, and receive message.received notifications.
Receiving inboxes for AI agents
Use the SKILL.md package with OpenClaw or compatible agents for user-authorized signups and tests. Create an inbox, wait for matching mail, and retrieve code or HTTPS verification-link candidates.
Install with one command, then configure your scoped API key privately. Supports OpenClaw and compatible agents. Keep lasting account inboxes for recovery; the helper does not visit links.
